Meet Debbie: The Creative Force Behind Cut The Scrap!

Nestled in the heart of Allentown, Pennsylvania, lies a charming secondhand arts and crafts shop that has become a haven for creative minds and hobbyists alike. The magic of this little store isn't just in the supplies it offers, but the warmth and passion of its owner, Debbie. Today we take a behind the scenes and introduce you to the incredible woman who brings this crafty wonderland to life.

A Passion for Creativity

Born and raised in San Diego, California, Debbie's love for arts and crafts started at a young age. Her Mom encouraged both her and her sister to be creative. Debbie has always been a colorer and loved using her favorite Prismacolor pencils. She learned to crochet at age 10 and then came sewing, quilting, knitting and a love of playing with paper. From making handmade cards for her family to experimenting with various DIY projects, Debbie's creativity knew no bounds. It was this lifelong passion that eventually led her to open her own arts and crafts shop.

In 2013, Debbie and her husband retired and moved to Allentown. Retirement was fun but Debbie got bored and started looking at her options to make her dream of opening an arts and crafts store come true. She saw other secondhand arts and crafts store in US and thought she would give it a try. Debbie contacted a realtor in March of 2024 to see what was out there and by the end of May it was done. Cut The Scrap! opened on June 15th, 2024. What started as a small shop is quickly growing into a hub for craft enthusiasts of all ages. Debbie's shop offers a wide range of beads, yarn, fabrics, paints and so much more. But it's not just the products that keep customers coming back - it's the personal touch that Debbie brings to everything she does.

Community and Connection

Debbie's shop is becoming more than just a place to buy crafting supplies; it's becoming a crafting community. Soon she will be hosting regular workshops where people can learn new skills and techniques while bonding over their shared love for crafting.

Looking Ahead

As Debbie's arts and crafts shop continues to thrive, she remains committed to her vision of fostering a creative community. She has plans to expand her workshop offerings, collaborate with local artists, and more. With Debbie at the helm, the future of this little shop looks brighter than ever.
